PADI IDC Staff Instructor (IDCS)
The prerequisites for IDCS are to be an MSDT and EFRI.
You will need to pass the 5 theory exams and standards exam and score 80% on each one, and pass skills circuit, knowledge development and confined water presentation with a higher pass mark than on your IDC.
You will also be assisting on the IDC, and practice your marking.
You will need the Course Director manual, confined water marking slate and open water marking slate. You can obtain these materials through us
Once a certified Staff Instructor you can teach Assistant Instructors at a 5 star Dive Centre or Resort (or higher).
The PADI IDC Staff Instructor program is designed to provide PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainers with the additional training necessary to staff PADI Instructor Development courses.
This course builds upon your experience and abilities as a dive educator while concentrating on developing evaluation and counselling skills. Through independent study, classroom sessions and guided evaluation training you’ll learn to teach the PADI Assistant Instructor program and assist with PADI Instructor Development Courses.

Medical signed by a physician within the last 12 months.
